We opened in 1991 as Monterey’s original British Pub. We’re serving a British dish served in a British Pub by British Owners. (Would you go to In ‘n’ Out for Sushi ?)
Our fish is beer battered, not breaded. Most importantly, we use Icelandic Cod, (as used in Britain for over two centuries.)
What makes Icelandic Cod so special? It comes from the very coldest deep waters which gives the fish a thicker, flakier, whiter fillet which has a unique flavor to the discerning palate. Not snapper, rock cod, or Alaskan cod, which are all great fish, but not the best for traditional British fish & chips.
